Credible
Built on the internationally used “Easy Steps to Chinese” series and aligned to the Common European Framework (CEFR), so your progress is measured against a recognised global standard.
Effective
A clear, communicative method builds speaking, listening, reading, and writing together — real Chinese you can use from the very first lessons.
Accessible
For all ages and every starting point, with one flat semester fee, small classes, and a free trial. No per-lesson billing and no surprises.
Everyday Chinese, step by step
General Chinese Programs (GCP) is BFL School’s core Mandarin course in Phnom Penh, following the popular “Easy Steps to Chinese” series — a clear, communicative path to using Chinese in everyday life.
Whatever your age or starting point, a short placement chat puts you in the right level. From there you build the four skills together — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — progressing along the CEFR ladder from A1 all the way to C2.
Your climb to fluency
General Chinese Programs moves you up the CEFR ladder, one level at a time, from your first words to confident mastery.
All four skills, for real life
General Chinese Programs builds every skill together, so you can actually use Mandarin — not just study it.

Speaking 口语
Speak with correct tones and pronunciation for real, everyday conversations.
Reading 阅读

Writing 写作

What General Chinese Programs students say
I joined with no Chinese at all. The Easy Steps books make every lesson simple, and now I can hold real conversations in Mandarin when I travel.
My daughter actually looks forward to class. She’s already reading and writing characters I can’t even recognise — and she’s proud of it.
